Jr Gold Experience - Hayden Word

by Lou Giacobbi on 07/19/18

It feels good to leave on a high note of a 258 game.  Struggled pretty consistently over the past 4 games but with struggle comes experience and new knowledge on how to attack the lanes.  Although it wasn't the highest scoring I've seen I can walk away knowing that I kept it consistent and never put myself too far out of the mix.  Scoring for the week was 730, 747, 732 and 736.

Junior Gold Report - 7/19

by Lou Giacobbi on 07/19/18

Our last Jr Gold as parents turned out to be a mixed result, but a very enjoyable time.  Going through four events, from Chicago, to Indianapolis, Cleveland and Dallas, this event seemed to be the most well run.  A few lane breakdowns the first day, but mainly the challenge was navigating Dallas' confusing maze of roads and the awful heat (109 degrees today).  But got to see the bowling HOF museum and the aquarium.  Overall a great week, and a good memory.  Good luck to all the advancers this weekend.

Junior Gold Report - 7/14

by Lou Giacobbi on 07/14/18

Interesting day, enjoying Dallas and a lot of the surprising things we've found here.  Learning about some of the different communities.  Staying in Irving, there is a huge Indian community, to the extent that not only is there a Hindi channel on the hotel cable, but leaving this morning for practice we passed by a pickup cricket game.  Going to Ben's second practice in Grand Prairie, passed by an Asian specific mall, looks like it serves a sizable Vietnamese community in Arlington and Grand Prairie.

Fair Park was interesting, seeing the Cotton Bowl.  The pattern at Forum Bowl was confusing, AMF Garland was freezing like a meat locker, and it was triple digits outside.  Two more practices tomorrow, looking for what other surprises we find in Dallas.

Jr Gold Experience - Nick Agnew

by Lou Giacobbi on 07/14/18

Training at the International Bowling and Research Center today.  It's such a blessing to be able to train here.  It taught me a lot about my game but now it's time to focus on Junior Gold

Junior Gold Report - 7/13

by Lou Giacobbi on 07/14/18

Pretty uneventful drive to Dallas and sorted out some issues with the hotel.  Headed to the HQ Hotel and bought more gear than we ever had.  Saw our friend Mike Bonzek from GYBT at the HQ Hotel.  Went against the grain and didn't go to Texas staple Whataburger but instead got an In And Out Burger.  Came back to the hotel to see this wonderful picture of cowboy Allen Slaughter.  More to come from Saturday, looking for more reports from bowlers and families.
